MEGANTARA

 

Have you ever gone to a cultural festival? If you have, did you like it or not? I love attending a cultural festival. It's one of my favorite activities.

 Cultural festival occurs in every part of this world. Cultural Festival is a festival that focuses on cultural or ethnic topic. Every places have their own way to carry out a cultural festival. Last Saturday, September 10th, 2016, my school held a cultural festival. It's an annual event. This event has different name every year. In 2014, it's called Matsuwapati and in 2015, it's called Gamarvani. For this year, it is called Megantara. Megantara comes from two words, "Megan" and "Tara". Megan means majestic and tara means light. Jargon for Megantara is " Kemilau budaya, sinari nusantara!".

There were many art performances such as traditional dances, rampak kendang, karawitan, etc. The performers came from SMAN 3 students and students from other schools. My favorite performances are MK 3 and rampak kendang from Daruh Hikam. I also like the performance from this year guest stars, RAN and Changcuters. They were very energetic and entertaining.

There were also many areas that represented every island in Indonesia. Every area consits of many stalls that sold signature food from every island. For example, there were sate padang from Padang and pempek from Palembang in Sumatra area. There were also traditional games performances in every area.

It was a very amazing cultural festival. My friends from others schools who attended also amazed by SMAN 3 cultural festival, Megantara.
