DEWA ATHENA

Hi guys ! Do you know what  DEWA ATHENA is?
Maybe some of you will imagine a Greek goddess after hearing to the word "Athena".
You're not totally wrong. I thought the same thing too.

Actually Dewa Athena is an annual sport even which is held by school to improve student sportsmanship. It's like a mini version of Olympic for students. This year is the    Dewa Athena and it took place on March 23rd and 24th for eleventh graders. For tenth grader, me and my teammates played on March 25th and we are going to play again on April 1st and April 8th for the final round between eleventh and tenth graders. There are 8 matched sports ( football, basketball, volleyball, dodge ball, relay race, gobak sodor or galah asin, badminton, and tug of war).

On March 25th, Dewa Athena was opened at 7 o'clock in the morning. Unfortunately I couldn't see the opening ceremony because I was late. Me and my classmate wore a hot pink jersey with 8 phase of moon as our symbol/logo. This is the picture.

As a side note, I used to hate on our jersey because it's HOT PINK. But later on, I started to like it because I could easily recognize my teammates.

Our first game was gobak sodor or galah asin. As Indonesian, we certainly know it because it's a traditional game for children. But we didn't know that it had been inaugurated as a Olympic game ! WOW. Before we started the game, the committee told the rules. We also didn't know that it has several rules. We matched with X-9 and we won. It wasn't as hard as I thought. We are going to play in the second round on April 1st.
After that, the girls played football. The team consisted of Sylva, Amanda, Gratia, Gabriella, and Adila. We didn't expect to win at all because some of the girls didn't know how to play football. But in the end, we made to the next round. We won 2-1 against X-2.It's such a fun time.

Our good luck started to disappear when we lost the badminton on men's double to acceleration class. It was sad. But we tried to cheer our teammates up, Fadly and Wildan. They tried their best to win the battle. We will not always win, right? Sooner or late, we are going to lose. But it's okay. Our fight continued to the dodge ball for girls and tug of war. We won on tug of war but we also lost on girl's dodge ball. After tug of war, we took a rest for 45 minutes. Some of the student went to mosque and the rest had lunch.

After take some rest, we played again. We played volley and football for the boys. We won the volley game but we lose against X-4 on football game.

UPDATE!!!

On April 1st,  our team won in gobak sodor against X-6, relay run against X-6 too, tug of war against X-Social, and Volley against X-1. We were so happy. It's so satisfying when we knew that we managed to reach the final round for 4 games. On April 8th, we will compete in 2 finals, first we have to compete against 10th grader and if we win, we will compete against 11th grader.

This is some pictures of our team,
